RedTitan offers a solution for one of the big challenges for the application programmer -- barcode fonts. Using the RT5000 Database Publishing System, barcodes are as easy to use in documents as any normal font. RT5000 links the output from the database or report writer to the barcode and automatically generates the printer commands to format the correct barcodes.

How it works
When designing layouts with the Document Design System, users simply select the barcode font they require and link it to the barcode data field. A sample barcode is shown on screen, and when you merge in the data file, you can scroll through the job and get a perfect view of the actual variable barcodes. Like any part of the document, conditions can be attached to the barcode, so that the layout is customised to the data.

RT5000 interfaces to Paradox, dBase and text databases, as well as ODBC compliant databases including Microsoft, Informix, Sybase, and acts as a client of remote networked database servers, such as Oracle.

Proofing is easily done on the desktop printer. When you output the job for production laser printing, the software selects character sets, calculates check characters and generates all the required printer commands. The document can be printed on any type of printer or to the Dynamic Document Formatter which manages dynamic reformatting in Metacode, PCL or PostScript environments.

RedTitan can also supply licences for the above fonts, in TrueType or any bitmap format.

Users with TrueType or PostScript fonts can convert them to bitmap format for production printing, using the RedTitan Font Rasteriser.
